Belgium, host ng FIBA 3×3 World Cup 2022

MAGIGING host ng seventh edition ng FIBA 3×3 World Cup ang Antwerp, sa Belgium na nakatakda sa June 2022, ayon sa FIBA.
Ang siyudad ang dapat mag-host sa FIBA 3×3 Europe Cup 2020 bago nakansela ang event dahil sa COVID-19 pandemic.
Ang FIBA 3×3 World Cup 2022 na ilulunsad sa June 20, ay Belgian Basketball Federation ang magiging host ng event habang ang Sportizon/Golazo ang organizer na gaganapin sa Groenplaats, isa sa most iconic aquares sa historic district ng Antwerp.
“FIBA is delighted to bring the FIBA 3×3 World Cup 2022 to Belgium,” wika ni FIBA secretary general Andreas Zagklis. “The historic district of Antwerp promises to be one of the most spectacular urban backdrops in 3×3 history.”
“We’re excited to be in such a young and dynamic city and region, for what will be the first World Cup after 3×3’s Olympic debut in Tokyo later this year,” dagdag pa nya.
Twenty men’s teams at 20 women’s teams (kabilang ang Belgian hosts) ang sasabak sa Antwerp.
Ang China’s women team at USA’s men ang nag kampeon sa huling edition ng FIBA 3×3 World Cup sa Amsterdam, Netherlands noong June 18 to 23 2019.
“The FIBA 3×3 Basketball World Cup will allow Flanders to get to know a young and dynamic Olympic discipline,” sambit ni Flemish Minister for Sport Ben Weyts.
“This hip and urban form of sport and exercise will stimulate and inspire young people even more. I strongly believe that the World Cup will offer an added value for the further development of basketball in Flanders.”
