Al Panlilio muling nahalal bilang SBP president

MULING nahalal bilang presidente ng Samahang Basketball ng Pilipinas (SBP) si Al Panlilio, inanunsyo ng federation Martes.

Muli din nahalal sina Senator Angara at Congresman Robbie Puno bilang chairman at vice chairman, ayon sa pagkakasunod. Habang si Manny V. pangilinan nanateling chairman emeritus.

“I am thankful for the continued vote of confidence from the movers and shakers of the Philippine basketball community,” Wika ni Panlilio sa kanyang statement.

“Now that the elections are over, it’s time to put in even more work as we traverse through this pandemic while still having our eyes fixed on our co-hosting of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023,” Dagdag nya.

“I’m excited to continue working with the re-elected officials and welcome the new members of the SBP’s Board of Trustees.”

Executive director Sonny Barrios, treasurer Ricky Palou, at corporate secretary Atty. Marievic Añonuevo ay muling nahalal sa kanilang posisyon.

PBA chairman at TNT governor Ricky Vargas ay nahalal bilang vice president kasama si commissioner Willie Marcial, Terra Firma governor Bobby Rosales, at Alaska governor Dickie Bachman ang Board of Trustees kumakatawan sa PBA at PBA D-League.

Ang Board of Trustees kabilang ang kinatawan mula sa limang magkaibang bayan sa boung Pilipinas.

Sinalubong rin ng SBP ang kinatawan mula sa professional,commercial, at school sectors, kabilang si Mark Molina ng UAAP at Dax Castellano ng NCAA, at Monica Jorge para sa women’s sector.

Ang national congress at election ay ginanap noong October 13. SBP deputy executive director Butch Antonio, na umaktong Comeles chairman sa ginanap na SBP election, sinertipikahan at inanunsyo ang bagong halal na Board of Trustees.
