DAHIL sa masasabing first ever big break ni Ashley Ortega ang bagong seryeng ginagawa niya na “Widows’ Web” na nasa lead role na siya kasama sina Carmina Villarroel at Pauleen Mendoza, malaki ang sinakripisyo niya sa pangangatawan, as in to the max ang ginawa niyang pagbabawas ng timbang para ma-achieve ang karakter na ginagampanan niya sa naturang serye.
“My character I have to put so much effort in it to create the classy and elegant character of Jackie Sagrado. Physically I have to lose weight for this character para maging mature ‘yung hitsura ko. The way I dress, my posture, how I modulate my voice, even my look, talagang pinag-isipan ‘yung peg nila,” say ni Ashley.
“It’s one of the most mature roles I’ve done. And ‘yung mga kasama kong actors talagang veterans.
“Nandoon ‘yung pressure but then ito naman ‘yung gusto ko ring i-challenge ‘yung sarili ko for me to grow as an artist,” dagdag na say pa ni Ashley.

“I’m really scared to do horror films, but I welcomed the opportunity of working with Direk Brillante and the story is really good. But the moment I step in sa bahay na pula in Mindoro where we shot it, I felt goosebumps agad. It was creepy talaga,” say ni Julia.
“I feel like he has changed my life,” she says at the film’s zoom presscon. “When I was informed about it, I was so excited to tell my family and my friends how I look forward to working with him. We had a lot of conversations during the filming and I learned so much from him as he’s very generous with me in sharing the things he know.
“It reinvigorated my passion for filming. Kasi he gives you so much freedom and trust in the creative process. He lets you interpret the scene and make up your own dialogue. It’s very liberating and I wish we could make another film again,” say pa rin ni Julia.
