Rowing association nagtayo ng academy sa Ternate

NAKIPAG-UGNAYAN ang Philippine Rowing Association sa lalawigan ng Cavite upang bumuo ng unang rowing school sa bansa na tatawaging First Ternate,Cavite Rowing Academy.

Ang academy ay inilunsad Linggo sa Barrio Bucana sa Ternate, Cavite, na sinaksihan ng boung national team na pinamunuan ni Tokyo Olympian Cris Nievarez at PRA president Patrick Gregorio ang attendance.

Isa pang Olympian, Benjie Tolentino, ang maging head instructor ng school na ang hangarin ay makapag produce ng maraming national team mainstays at posibleng maging Olympian rowers sa darating na panahon.

“We have to build more rowing academy or centers all over the country so young people can learn how to row, that is the first step,” Wika ni Gregorio. “We will develop more rowing centers to reach this goal.”

Sinabi ni Gregorio na ang programa ay nabou sa pakikipagtulungan ng University of the Philippines College of Human Kinetics.

“We thank UP CHK as well as Cavite Gov. Jonvic Remulla, Philippine Olympic Committee president Bambol Tolentino and Philippine Sports Commission chairman Noli Eala for the support,” anya.
