ILULUNSAD ng Philippine Badminton Association of the Philippines ang Philippine Badminton Open sa Pebrero, 20-26, 2023, upang magsilbing national team’s build-up para sa 32nd Southeast Asian Games sa Phnom Penh,Cambodia.

Ang tournament ay hosted ng Dragonsmash Badminton Center sa Chino Roces Avenue, Makati City.

Ito ang unang pagkakataon sa loob ng 3 taon na ang pederasyon ay magsasagawa ng kumpetisyon. Ang 2019 edition ng tournament ay ginanap sa Muntinlupa Sports Complex bilang test event para sa 30th Southeast Asian Games.



Limang events ang lalaruin sa Super 500 tournament – men’s singles,women’s singles, men’s doubles, women’s doubles, at mixed doubles.

Dahil sa pagiging 500 tournament, magkakaroun ng kabuoang P1,000,000 pot na ang P70.000 mapupunta sa mananalo ng single events P150.000 mapupunta sa campions ng doubles events.

“The Philippine Badminton Open has been there since I joined PBAD. The first tournament was back in 2016 and we had 500-plus players compete. After, the last time we held this was right before the 2019 SEA Games. It’s very welcoming that we will have the Philippine Open again next year,” Wika ni Philippine Badminton Association secretary-general Christopher Quimpo.

“A lot of learnings and clamor for tournaments happened since then. But a question was raised, ‘Who’s really the best in our country?’ And we hope that we can find them in this tournament.”

Ang entry fee ay nakatakda sa P1,000 per player per entry.May kasamang shirt, shuttlecock, at court fees.



Lahat ng entries ay kailangan nakarehistro sa pamamagitan ng tournament’s portal(https://tinyurl.com/PHIBadmintonOpen) on or before Feb. 5, 2023.

Ang Philippine Open ay isa lang sa maraming domestic tournament na plano ng PBAD para sa 2023.
