The country has lost a great public servant.
Ganito isinalarawan ni Manila Third District Congressman Atty. Joel Chua ang pagpanaw ni dating Marikina Mayor at MMDA Chairman Bayani Fernando.
Si Fernando ay nasawi matapos umano maaksidente sa edad na 77.
“Konsehal palang ako sa Sangguniang Panglungsod ng Maynila, legend at idol ko na si Mayor Bayani ‘BF’ Fernando na nagsilbi din sa DPWH at sa Kongreso,” ani Chua.
“Bayani cast and set a new mold of public service, especially in local government,” dagdag pa ni Chua.
“I emulated his example of grassroots contact with constituents and close attention to details of public works projects. He is legendary and his example will long serve as the template of governance and public service,” pahayag pa ni Chua. (JERRY S. TAN)
