Last December 2, a diverse group of multi-stakeholders came together through a vibrant Peace Walk held on December 2, 2023 in celebration of the annual Mindanao Week of Peace.
Around 300 individuals from 23 organizations from different sectors including teachers, students, community leaders, religious leaders, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), civil society organizations (CSOs), youth, women and the security sector participated in the Peace Walk.
This significant gathering aimed to emphasize the collective commitment to fostering peace and cooperation among the diverse communities in Mindanao.
It is truly saddening that the bombing tragedy happened and it was during the celebration of the Mindanao Week of Peace which started last November 30 and will end on December 6.
At this moment of grief, let us reaffirm our commitment to peace and unity. The tragic event underscores the urgent need to further strengthen the collective effort to foster understanding, compassion, and unity in Mindanao and the Philippines as a whole. (ANDI GARCIA)
