PRESIDENT Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s recent initiative to bring key government agencies to Davao del Sur underscores a proactive commitment to uplift the province’s infrastructure, health, tourism, and agriculture sectors. This move not only highlights the administration’s dedication to addressing regional needs but also signifies a promising step towards comprehensive development.

During the ceremonial turnover of the Presidential Assistance to Farmers and Fisherfolk (PAFF) in Digos City, President Marcos emphasized his administration’s prioritization of strengthening crucial sectors such as infrastructure, health, livelihood, tourism, and agriculture in Davao del Sur. His assurance of support from collaborative government agencies reflects a unified effort towards progress and resilience.

The Chief Executive highlighted ongoing infrastructure projects led by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), including the Matanao-Kiblawan-Padada Road and Junction Matti-Aurora Bypass Road. Furthermore, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) is actively engaged in constructing vital facilities like ports in Malita, Sarangani, and Jose Abad Santos, alongside the ambitious Mindanao Railway Project Phase 1.

The government’s aim to accelerate transportation and foster local development resonates with President Marcos’s vision for inclusive growth. By bolstering infrastructure, the administration not only enhances connectivity but also stimulates economic progress across the region.

Meanwhile, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) is implementing various programs in Davao Region, including the Kapatid Mentor ME (KMME) Online Program, Pangkabuhayan sa Pagbangon at Ginhawa Program, Shared Service Facilities (SSF) Project, Negosyo Center (NC) Program, and One Town, One Project (OTOP) Next Generation. These initiatives empower local entrepreneurs and promote sustainable economic opportunities.

In agriculture, the Department of Agriculture (DA) distributed 1,040 bags of yellow corn seeds and established the Spring Development Under High Value Crops Development Program, demonstrating a commitment to support farmers and enhance agricultural productivity.

President Marcos’s proactive approach to addressing the diverse needs of Davao del Sur reflects a genuine commitment to inclusive development. By fostering collaboration among government agencies and investing in critical sectors, his administration aims to catalyze sustainable growth and prosperity for the region.

As these initiatives take shape, it is imperative for the government to ensure effective implementation, transparent governance, and continuous stakeholder engagement. By staying true to its commitments and fostering partnerships with local communities, the government can pave the way for a brighter future for Davao del Sur and the entire nation.
