Karagdagang benepisyo para sa Barangay Health Workers (BHWs), isinusulong ng ANAKALUSUGAN PARTY-LIST

PATULOY na isinusulong ngayon ni AnaKalusugan Party-List Rep. Ray T. Reyes ang karagdagang kompensasyon at iba pang mainam na benepisyo laan para sa mga Barangay Health Workers (BHWs) na nagsilbi bilang mga frontliner at nangunguna para sa paghahatid ng healthcare services sa ating komunidad.

“AnaKalusugan Party-list joins the nation in celebrating Labor Day. As we continue to fight for the rights of our workers, let us also shed light on the plight of our Barangay Health Workers and push for the passage of the Magna Carta for Barangay Health Workers,” ani AnaKalusugan Party-list Rep. Ray Reyes.

Mabigat aniya sa kalooban ang patuloy na nararanasan ng mga BHWs dahil sa umano’y hindi sapat na proteksyon at karapatan na isinasaad ng batas taliwas sa tinatamasa ng ibang propesyonal sa hanay ng mga healthcare sector.

“Matagal na pong isyu na hindi sapat ang benepisyong nakukuha ng ating mga BHWs at nararapat lamang na bigyan natin ng karampatang suporta ang serbisyo na binibigay ng ating mga BHWs sa ating mga kababayan lalo na sa kanayunan,” dagdag ng mambabatas.

Si Rep. Reyes ay una nang nagpasa ng House Bill 1829 layunin na bigyang kapangyarihan ang BHWs at upang mabigyan din sila ng sapat at karagdagang health benefits bukod pa sa kanilang kompensasyon at mga insentibo.

“Primary healthcare services should always be a priority and we hope that giving proper compensation and benefits to our BHWs will encourage more people to serve in our communities, especially in remote areas,” diin ni Rep. Reyes.

Nakasaad sa inihaing panukala na may karapatan ang BHWs sa mga insentibo kabilang na dito ang hazard allowance, transportation allowance, subsistence allowance, one-time retirement cash incentive health benefits, insurance coverage, gayundin ang vacation and maternity leaves.

Isinusulong din ng panukala na mabigyan sila (BHWs) ng oportunidad para sa kanilang career enrichment sa pamamagitan ng educational programs at scholarship benefits.

“The importance of our Barangay Health Workers in providing accessible and quality medical assistance in the grassroots cannot be overstated. We need to protect the well-being of our BHWs and provide them with competitive compensation and benefits for their services,” paliwanag ni Rep. Reyes.
