Zamboanga City Jail, kauna-unahang BJMP Gray Dove Awardee

Pinarangalan best jail facility nitong Setyembre 21, 2023 ang Zamboanga City Jail-Male Dormitory bukod sa ang city jail din ang kauna-unahang pinarangalang bilang Gray Dove Awardee sa lahat ng mga pasilidad na nasa ilalim ng BJMP.

Ops hindi lang the best kung hindi nanguna sa ginanap na Bureau of Jail Management and Penology’s national search for the most outstanding jail unit on peace-building and innovations.

Tama ang inyong mababasa, numero uno ang ZCJMD at inilampaso ang iba pang 478 district, city, at municipal jail sa buong bansa.

Nakapagtataka pa ba ang pagpaparangal sa pasilidad? Teka, sino ba ang Warden ng Zamboanga City Jail Male Dormitory? Sino nga ba? Ang mapagpakumbabang si Jaunt. Xavier Solda pala na dating spokes person ng BJMP.

Kaya naman pala, dahil kung governance at leadership ang pag-uusapan, aba’y saludo ang nakararami kay Solda. Ang hanay ng mamamahayag ay saksing buhay sa kung gaano kasinseridad si Solda para paglingkuran ang mga Persons Deprived of Liberty na ipinagkatiwala at pinaalagaan sa kanya.

Sinundan naman ng Parang District Jail ang ZCJMD bilang ikalawa at ang ikatlo naman ang Olongapo City District Jail makaraan ang masusing paghusga at patunay ng na isinagawa ng BJMP National Program on Awards and lncentives for Service Excellence (PRAISE) Committee.

Ang pagpili para sa Gray Dove Award ay ginaganap taunan tuwing ika-21 ng Setyembre kaugnay sa selebrasyon ng International Day of Peace or “Peace Day.”

“The annual search aims to identify outstanding accomplishments in preventing and countering violent extremism and the implementation of peace-building efforts. Likewise, encourages creativity, innovativeness, efficiency, integrity, and productivity, by recognizing and rewarding the superior accomplishments of jail units, and to further promote a culture of peace in the organization,”.pahayag ni BJMP chief Director Ruel Rivera.

“It’s not ordinary to engage PDL with terrorism-related cases including those who are living with the trauma of their difficult past,” ayon kay Solda.

“But no matter how difficult our job is, we are ready to listen and more than willing to extend our hand to help each of the PDL under our care in their reformation process,” dagdag ni Solda.

Sinabi ni Solda na ang reporma sa piitan ang nagbigay tulong sa PDL upang magkaisa para sa kaayusan at tahimikan partikular na ang training and education, provision of livelihood opportunities, health service delivery, facility developments, at decongestion initiatives.

“Our job becomes more serious because of the violent extremist offenders being placed under our care but we will continue to move forward with our welfare and development efforts,” ayon pa Rivera.

“The jail bureau will continue to align ourselves and our peace efforts with our partners in the peace and security sector toward a just and lasting peace for our country,” dagdag ng BJMP chief.

Siyempre, binabati din natin sina Majority Floor Leader Congressman Mannix Dalipe, Zamboanga City Mayor John Dalipe, 1st District Congressman Khymer Olaso at Zamboanga City Administrator Atty Wendell Sotto dahil sa walang humpay na pagsuporta nila sa reporma ng pasildad.

Ang awarding ceremony para sa Gray Dove Award ay ginanap sa BJMP National Headquarters bilang selebrasyon ng National Peace Month Commemoration.

E di, kung the best city jail ang ZCJMD at kauna-unahan tumanggap ng Gray Dove Awardee at pinakain ng alikabok ang 478 pang pasilidad, ibig sabihin nito sa anniversary ng BJMP ay awtomatikong si Solda na ang Most Outstanding Warden of the Year. Matik na yan!
