Break dancing kasama sa 2024 Paris Games

BREAKDANCING ang isa sa apat na bagong sports kasama ang skateboarding, surfing at sport climbing na nakakuha ng Olympic green light nitong Lunes na mapasama sa 2024 Paris Games.
Ang apat na sports ay kasama sa International Olympic Committee (IOC) executive board met na kinumpirma sa Paris 2024 programme.
Skateboarding, sports climbing at surfing ang nadagdag sa programme para sa 2020 Tokyo Olympics, na nakatakda sa 2021 matapos makansela ng isang taon dahil sa coronavirus pandemic.
The introduction of breaking was “one of the results of the Olympic Agenda 2020,” wika ni Bach.. “We had a clear priority to introduce sports (that are) particularly popular among the younger generation and taking into consideration the urbanisation of sport.”
Breakdancing, na nakilala bilang hip hop sa South Bronx sa New York noong 1970’s at sumikat sa sport terms na “breaking” lumitaw sa 2018 Youth Olympics sa Buenos Aires, sa pamamagitan ng head-to-head “battles”.
Sergie Chermyshev ng Russia na sumabak sa ilalim ng nickname na Bumblebee, ang nanalo ng unang breakdancing gold medal para sa boys event,habang si Ramu Kawai ng Japan naman ang nagwagi sa girls title.
“Today is a historic occasion not only for b-boys and b-girls but for all dancers around the world,” Sambit ni Shawn Tay, president of the World Dance Sport Federation (WDSF).
