P1.1B ismagel na pekeng produkto nakumpiska sa Pasay

TINATAYANG nasa P1.1 bilyon ang halaga ng mga puslit at pekeng produkto ang kinumpiska ng mga tauhan ng Bureau of Customs (BOC) sa operasyon sa Pasay City nitong Lunes.

Bitbit ang Letter of Authority ni BOC Commissioner Rey Leonardo Guerrero, sinalakay ng mga tauhan ng Intelligence Group (IG), Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service-Intellectual Property Right Division (CIIS-IPRD), BOC-Port of Manila (BOC-POM) at Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) upang magsagawa ng inspeksyon sa mga bodega sa Baclaran Wholesale Complex na nasa kanto ng F.B. Harrison at J. Fernando Streets, Baclaran sa Pasay City.

Sa isinagawang inspeksyon, nadiskubre ang mga ismagel at mga pinekeng produkto ng mga branded na mamahaling gamit tulad ng Victoria’s Secret, Birkenstock, Lacoste, Converse, Nike, Adidas, Jordan, Havaianas, Barbie, HP atbp.

Posibleng paglabag sa Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines (RA 8293) at Customs Modernization and Tariff Act (RA 10863) ang kakaharapin ng mga may-ari ng mga naturang kontrabanbdo. (Jocelyn Domenden)
