NAHARANG ng mga opisyal ng Bureau of Immigration (BI) sa Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) ang dalawang Africans, isang babae at isang lalaki, na tinangkang pumasok sa bansa at nagpanggap na Canadian citizens.

Kinilala ang mga inaresto na sina Adraman Issa Mariam at Halime Abba Souleymane, kapwa African national.

Sa ulat kay Immigration Commissioner Norman Tansingco, ni BI port operations chief Atty. Carlos Capulong sinabi nito na ang dalawang pasahero, dumating sa NAIA terminal 3 noong September 25 lulan ang biyeheg Emirates galing Dubai.



Ayon kay Capulong, nagpakita ang dalawa ng pekeng Canadian passports sa immigration officers subali’t pinagdudahan ang kanilang said travel documents.

“Apparently, they attempted to conceal their true nationality in the belief that they would be allowed entry into the country without being subjected to strict inspection by our officers. They are wrong to assume that such documents can pass as legitimate,” ayon kay Capulong.

Agad namang ipinag-utos ni Tansingco ang pagsama ang kanilang pangalan sa immigration blacklist upang hindi sila muling makapasok ng bansa.

“I commend our officers at the NAIA for a job well done. Due to their vigilance, we were able to frustrate the intentions of these undesirable aliens to gain illegal entry into our country,” ayon pa sa BI chief.(Jocelyn Domenden)
