Pagsuot ng necklace air purifier ‘di iniendorso ng DOH

HINDI iniendorso ng Department of Health (DOH) ang paggamit ng necklace air purifiers, na sinasabing maaring gamiting proteksyong panlaban sa coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
Ito ang paglilinaw na ginawa ng DOH kasunod nang lumabas na ulat na okey sa ahensiya ang paggamit ng mga necklace air purifiers.
Sa isang pahayag, sinabi ng DOH na bagamat hindi naman nakakasama sa kalusugan ang necklace air purifiers, hindi rin umano nila iniendorso o hinihikayat ang paggamit ng mga ito.
Ipinaliwanag pa nito na hindi pa naman napapatunayan ang bisa ng mga naturang produkto laban sa virus o bacteria.
“The DOH clarifies that it is NOT ENDORSING the use of necklace air purifiers that claim to kill bacteria or viruses, or protect from COVID-19,” anang DOH. “While these devices do not pose any harm, the DOH currently does not recommend using these devices due to lack of evidence of efficacy.”
Binigyang-diin pa ng DOH na hindi rin maaring gamitin pamalit ang necklace air purifiers sa mga health protocols na ipinaiiral ng pamahalaan.
Pinakamabisa pa rin anilang paraan nang pag-iwas sa virus ang pagsusuot ng face shield at mask, regular na paghuhugas ng kamay at physical distancing.
“Further, the DOH emphasizes that wearing of necklace air purifiers DOES NOT replace the need to practice minimum health standards.  Mask wearing, hand washing and physical distancing remain to be our best protection,” dagdag pa nito.
Kasabay nito, pinayuhan rin naman ng DOH ang publiko na sumunod sa mga bilin at abiso lang ng kagawaran, gayundin ng World Health Organization at inirerespetong health institutions para sa mga totoong impormasyon.
“The public is also reminded to stay vigilant and follow accurate public health advice and guidance from the Department of Health, the World Health Organization, and other refutacle health institutions,” sabi pa nito. (Andi Garcia/Jocelyn Domenden)
