“We are ready to defend our national sovereignty and protect the marine resources of the Philippines. There will be an increased presence of the Philippine Navy and Philippine Coast Guard ships to conduct sovereignty patrols and protect our fishermen in the West Philippine Sea,” ani Lorenzana.

“Our air and sea assets are ready to protect our sovereignty and sovereign rights in the WPS and KIG (Kalayaan Island Group),” saad ni Lorenzana.

Isinaad ni Lorenzana na nakikipag-ugnayan na ang DND sa iba pang government agencies tulad ng Coast Guard at Bureau of Aquatic and Fisheries upang maprotektahan ang seguridad sa WPS at kalayaan Island Group.

“By securing the West Philippine Sea and its islands in the Kalayaan area, the Philippines reinforces its commitment to keeping the freedom of navigation and maintaining regional peace and stability,” dagdag ni Lorenzana.

Magugunita na kinumpirma ng Armed Forces of the Philippine noong March 22 na nasa 183 Chinese vessels ang namataan na nakadaong sa Julian Felipe Reef ng Philippine Air Forces. (Mark Obleada)
