Kadete, patay sa suntok ng upperclassman

Patay ang isang kadete ng Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) nang limang beses suntukin sa tiyan ng kaniyang upperclassman.

Kinilala ng Silang Police ang biktima na si Cadet Third Class George Carl Magsayo, 21 anyos, mula sa Pagadian City.

Sa ulat, nangyari ang insidente 5:40 ng hapon nitong Setyembre 23, Huwebes, nang magpunta sina Magsayo at ang isa niyang kasamahan sa kuwarto ng salarin na kinilalang si Cadet Second Class Steve Ceasar Maingat.

Binalaan ng salarin ang biktima at ang kasamahan nito, pero ilang saglit ang lumipas, pinagsusuntok na umano ni Maingat ang biktima sa tiyan.

Nawalan ng malay si Magsayo at isinugod sa ospital pero idineklarang dead on arrival 6:43 ng gabi ng araw ding iyon.

“It is with deep sorrow that we confirm the sudden demise of Cdt 3C George Karl Magsayo,” saad ng pamunuan ng PNPA sa kanilang pahayag.

“An extensive investigation is being conducted to ferret out the truth about what happened that led to this tragic but isolated incident while the body of Cdt Magsayo is subject to an autopsy to determine the cause of death. We would like to assure everyone especially the family that we WILL MAKE ANYONE ACCOUNTABLE should the findings so warrant and GIVE JUSTICE TO WHOM IT IS DUE,” dagdag ng PNPA.

Iginiit ng PNPA na sinusunod nito ang “No To Hazing Policy” at pinahahalagahan ang buhay at karapatang pantao, na itinuturo sa mga kadete at personnel.

“We express our sincerest condolences to the family of the late Cdt 3C Magsayo and pray that God comfort us all following this tragedy,” anang akademya.
