Senado isasailalim sa total lockdown hanggang Aug. 22

ISASARA muna ang Senado hanggang sa Lunes, Agosto 22, upang isailalim sa disinfection matapos magpositibo sa coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) ang pito nitong senador, ayon sa pahayag ni Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri.

“I have instructed the Secretariat to conduct a thorough cleaning and disinfection of all Senate offices. For this reason, there will be a total lockdown of our Senate building and all Senate employees shall work from home and need not report to the Senate on Monday,” pahayag ni Zubiri.

Gayunman, bukas na ito sa publiko sa Martes, Agosto 23, banggit ng senador.

Inilabas ni Zubiri ang desisyon matapos tamaan ng virus sina Senate Majority Floor Leader Joel Villanueva, Senators JV Ejercito, Nancy Binay, Grace Poe, Cynthia Villar, Imee Marcos at Alan Peter Cayetano.

Ani Zubiri, nakasalamuha ng mga natukoy na senador ang kanilang empleyado kaya umapela ito na bantayan ng mga ito ang kanilang sarili laban sa COVID-19.

Sina Ejercito at Binay aniya ang huling nahawaan ng sakit sa Senado.

“After more than two years of consciously observing all protocols to avoid the virus, it is unfortunate that yesterday (Aug. 18), I tested positive for Covid-19,” saad ni Binay.

’’Tested positive for COVID-19 according to RT-PCR test yesterday morning, result of which was e-mailed late last night,’’ ayon naman kay Ejercito.

Batay sa datos ng Department of Health (DOH), nasa 3,844,708 na ang kabuuang nahawaan ng sakit sa bansa matapos maidagdag ang 3,758 na bagong kaso noong Huwebes, Agosto 18. (Mylene Alfonso)
