FAUSTINO NAGBITIW, GALVEZ IPINALIT NA DEFENSE CHIEF

TINANGGAP ni President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. ang resignation ni Department of National Defense (DND) officer-in-charge (OIC) Undersecretary Jose Faustino Jr., sabi ng Malacañang nitong Lunes.

“It is with deep regret that the President has accepted the resignation of DND OIC Sr. Usec. Jose Faustino Jr.,” sabi ni Press Secretary OIC Cheloy Garafil sa kanyang maiksing mensahe.

Sinabi ni Garafil tinanggap naman ni Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation, and Unity Sec. Carlito Galvez ang alok kapalit ni Faustino.

Si Faustino ay hindi dumalo sa Change of Command Ceremony noong Enero 7, nang ibalik bilang Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Chief si Lt. General Andres Centeno, kapalit ng nagretirong si Lt. General Bartolome Bacarro na nanungkulan lamang ng kulang limang buwan.

“The President has offered the position of DND Secretary to Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation, and Unity Sec. Carlito Galvez Jr. and he has accepted,” sabi ni Garafil.

Si Galvez ay dating nagsilbing Chief of Staff ng AFP at Chief Implementer ng National Task Force kontra Covid-19.
