Ex-MMDA chair Bayani Fernando pumanaw na, 77

NASAWI si dating Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) chairman at Marikina mayor na si Bayani Fernando nang mahulog sa bubong ng kanilang bahay. Ito ang kinumpirma ng kanyang asawa na si Marides.

Sumakabilang-buhay si Fernando sa edad na 77 anyos.

Isinugod si Fernando ng mga tauhan ng Rescue 161 Marikina sa Quirino Memorial Hospital kungsaan nagtipon-tipon din ang mga tagasuporta nito.

Sa naunang report mula sa hindi pinangalanang source, dinala sa ospital si Fernando nang mahulog sa bubong ng kanyang bahay habang nagkukumpuni ito.

Nagsilbi si Fernando bilang alkalde ng Marikina City mula 1992 hanggang 2001, at naging chairman ng MMDA mula 2002 hanggang 2009.

Mula 2016 hanggang 2022 ay naging kinatawan si Fernando ng 1st District ng Marikina sa Kamara.

Nagpahatid naman agad ng kanilang pakikiramay ang MMDA sa dati nilang lider.
