Romnick walang kakampihan sa hiwalayang Kathryn at Daniel; Piolo nahirapan sa 3 karakter sa ‘Mallari’

ISA sa official entry sa MMFF 2023 ang pelikulang Mallari. Ito ay mula sa Mentorque Productions, na bida si Piolo Pascual na tatlong karakter ang ginampanan sa tatlong henerasyon- si Fr. Severino Mallari, si John Rey, at si Jonathan.

Aminado si Piolo na hindi naging madali para sa kanya na gampanan ang tatlong role.
Sabi ni Piolo,”It was hard because three roles, e. So, I just… parang as an actor, that’s the challenge, not knowing what to expect.

“By just saying yes, I guess for me, I was up for the challenge and I just wanted to do something different. And when this came about, I guess it just fell into place, and the big production value alone was big consideration. It’s very ambitious but they lived up to the expectations and everything. So, I’m just really happy about that.

“With this film, with the backing of Warner Bros., I hope we will be able to not just be a top-grosser but to be shown not just here but internationally. Para naman ma-notice yung Philippine cinema, and horror genre for that matter, because malakas yung horror dito sa Pilipinas.
“It was really hard but what made it easy was the vision of my director. Direk Derick knew what he wanted and he knew his vision. He had a vision, in his film, his story.

“Ang pagkakasulat ni Sir Enrico, napakalinaw. Though it went through several drafts, and biggest blessing for me was having an acting coach, Tita Angie Castrence,” aniya pa.
Nag-lock in si Piolo sa shooting para makapag-concentrate sa tatlong character na ginagampanan niya.
“There were other days that I was doing three characters. So, you have to be specific, and you have to know the journey of each character.

“For me as an actor, nalatag siya nang maayos. I mean, the story and everytime I would read it from start to finish, lalong lumilinaw yung journey ng bawat character.
“So for me, malinaw yung pagkakaiba ng tatlong characters, but it was really hard. And masaya lang, because ang laking production.”
Showing na sa December 25 ang Mallari. Kasama rin sa pelikula sina Gloria Diaz,JC Santos, Ellise Joson at Janella Salvador.

ISa si Romnick Sarmenta sa nalungkot sa paghihiwalay nina Daniel Padilla at Kathryn. Nakatrabaho ni Romnick ang dalawa sa Netflix series na 2 Good 2 Be True noong 2022.
Sabi ni Romnick sa panayam sa kanya ng ABS-CBN News “Well, that’s sad. It’s probably, as other people would think, it’s probably heartbreaking.

“To me, they’re like my kids. Sincerely, they’re like my kids.
“Daniel and Kathryn are… I’ve worked with a lot of people.
“But these two have endeared themselves to me in a way I didn’t think was possible in this industry. Only because they are genuinely sincere people, di ba?

“I feel hurt in a way a father would feel hurt about his daughter or his son.
“Kasi pareho silang mabait, e.
“And forgive me if I have a comment, but my comment is coming from, like I said, a father.
“Parang tingin ko sa kanila, mga anak ko.
“They’re just so wonderful. Wala akong…I think it’s safe to say, wala akong kakampihan, pero pareho nila akong kakampi.
“I love them both.

“Whatever it is they are going through, whether this turns out to be one of those humps or it turns out to be life-changing in any way, I just want them to know na ako siguro, isa sa mga taong puwede nilang makatabi nang wala silang kailangan ikuwento and I would still care for both of them the same way,” aniya pa.
