FILIPINO ARTISTS TO SHOWCASE WORKS IN EUROPE: WHITE ROOM GALLERY’S DEBUT INT’L EXHIBIT

THE resident artists of the White Room Gallery of SEAMEO INNOTECH are set to fly to Europe for a group art exhibition.

Entitled “La Mia Mente è in Europa,” the exhibition will take place at the Kalayaan Hall of the Philippine Consulate in Milan, Italy from May 7 to 12, 2024.

It will be led by exhibition curator and director of the White Room Gallery, Professor Ruben DF Defeo of UP College of Fine Arts.

This marks the first international exhibition of INNOTECH artists featuring works aimed at showcasing the rich art and culture of the Philippines through a blend of traditional and modern visual arts.

Among the INNOTECH artists are Ramon Arsenio Acevedo, Nina Ricci Alagao-Flores, Hoche Magtolis Briones, Denes Dasco, Joy Dasco, Jes Evangelista, Karen Fabie-Concepcion, Reymar Gacutan, Carmela Geisert, Jay Lozada, Nesty Angeles Ortiz Jr, Anton Quisumbing, Byron Valenzuela, Myk Velasco, Jefferson Villacruz, and Chelony Mercado.

They will also be joined by former actor and visual artist Reb Belleza.

The White Room Gallery was opened to the public in July 2023, as advocated by former Education Secretary and INNOTECH Director Leonor Magtolis Briones, to enrich the relationship between art and technology, particularly in the field of education, which is the primary mission of SEAMEO INNOTECH.
