Albo, De Guzman swak sa PH Badminton Open finals

PASOK sa finals ng kanilang division sina National team members Jewel Angelo Albo at Mikaela de Guzman sa 2024 Philippine Badminton Open sa First Pacific Leaderhip Academy courts sa Antipolo City Lunes ng gabi.

Umiskor si Ambo ng 21-12,21-10 upset kay top seed RJ Oba-ob ng Philippine Air Force para itakda ang title showdown kay Clarence Villaflor sa men’s singles.

Villaflor, kinatawan ng Cadiz-JBA/Apacs, umiskor ng 21-13,21-16 victory kontra Ateneo de Manila University’ Arthur Salvado Jr. sa ibang semifinal match.



“I didn’t really set a goal for myself. I just want to show my best and perform well,” Wika ni Albo, na UAAP Season 85 Rookie of the Year.”What I focused on in the semifinal is my game play which is that I need to attack.”

Samantala, ang top-ranked De Guzman, nakamit ang kanyang semifinal match laban sa No.8 seed karyl Rio ng National University, 21-10,21-13, sa womens singles.

Amora, mula sa NU, dinaig ang No.5 seed Anielka Maeve Paz, 21-15, 21-12, sa semis.

“I’m going to give it my all because this is the final game. So, whatever I have left, I’m going to give it my all,” De Guzman, Wika ng 2023 APACS Kazakhstan International Series champion.

Ang tournament ay may nakataya na PHP 1 million cash prize, na ang men’s at women’s singles champion ay kikita ng PHP 100.000 at ang runner-up tatanggap ng PHP50,000.



Ang third at fourth ay tatanggap ng tig-15,000 pesos.

Sa doubles category, PHP 120,000 (champion) PHP60,000 (runner-up) at PHP 30,000 (3rd at 4th).
