SI Congressman Arjo Atayde ang unang nagbigay ng early Christmas party sa press people.

Kasabay nito ang thanksgiving party na rin para sa pagkapanalo niya bilang Male Lead TV Actor sa ContentAsia award giving body na ginanap sa Taipei.

Napansin ang husay ng actor-pulitiko sa standout performance niya sa crime-thriller series na Cattleya killer.

Pasasalamat ni Arjo, “Thank you to everyone. I’m forever indebted to all the actors that I work with, to the people behind the camera, to everyone who’s helped me be here, gather all this power to actually pull through this good series.”

Sobra rin niyang na-appreciate ang suporta mula sa kanyang pamilya lalo na sa misis niyang si Maine Mendoza.

“It’s my first time in Taipei, this is such a reward for a first time here.” “Last but not the least, my family. Thank you so much to my family for supporting so much, to my wife who understands so much of the hard work that we have to pull through to be able to do this.”

Hindi rin niyang nakalimutan pasalamatan ang ABS-CBN family.

Ayon kay Arjo, lima silang actor na naglaban sa Male Lead Actor.

Busy man si Arjo as an actor di pa rin niya nakakalimutan ang pangako niya sa constituents.

Patuloy pa rin daw siyang magseserbisyo sa kanyang mga nasasakupan hanggang kailangan siya ng mga tao.

Ang Cattleya Killer ay isang Filipino crime-thriller series mula sa ABS-CBN at Nathan Studios.

Ito ang latest sa string of international accolades para kay Arjo. It follows his 2020 Best Actor win at the Asian Academy Creative Awards for his role in Bagman, kung saan ginampanan niya ang papel ng isang barbero na sangkot sa mapanganib na mundo ng pulitika. At si Arjo ang unang Pilipino na napangaralan ng pinaka-prestihiyosong platform para sa creative excellence ng rehiyon.

Maliban sa kanyang thriving acting career, nagsisilbi din si Arjo bilang Representative ng Unang Distrito ng Quezon City, nuong 2022 elections.

His commitment to both his craft and public service showcases his multifaceted contributions to Philippine society.

MARIS HINDI DADALO NG TORONTO FILM FESTIVAL DAHIL NASA ITALY

KASALI ang movie ni Maris Racal sa Toronto Film Festival titled Sunshine.

Pero, hindi makaka-attend ang young actress sa nasabing international filmfest.

Ang Sunshine movie ang nag-iisang Filipino film na nag-participate ngayong TIFF.

Kasalukuyang nasa Italy si Maris to shoot sa upcoming series nilang Incognito.

Gustuhin mang um-attend ng young singer/actress sa Toronto ay hindi na raw pupwede.

Ang paliwanag niya, “I made a comittment kasi and this (‘Incognito’ shoot in Italy) is booked na way early this year. I appreciate naman the production and ABS-CBN, they really tried to move things around for me ‘cause they know how important TIFF (Toronto International Film Festival) is for me. They really tried. They really tried to change the schedule but matagal na talagang naka-book ‘yung Italy.”

Dagdag pa ni Maris, “Doble naman sana kung sa Pilipinas lang ‘yung shoot, kaso sa Italy kasi ang daming madadamay na schedules, na-book na mga places.”

Ang nakakasama pa raw ng loob, natanggap na niya ang kanyang passport nung araw ding yun of her Italy flight with Canadian visa approval.

“My visa got approved kaninang umaga (September 10). Heartbreaking. But it’s not about me naman eh, the important thing is there is a Filipino movie na kasama sa TIFF 2024. Direk Tonet (Jadaone) will be there. I’ll be there in spirit. Beaming with pride, I’m in Italy to support them.”

Alam naman ng lahat na kagagaling lang ni Maris sa heartbreak, aniya, “I’ve moved on. Ang dami ko nang naiyak, I’m like okay lang ako.”

Ang TIFF ay isa sa top five international movie festivals na ginagawa globally. And Racal knew how big this opportunity is and how this can open a lot of doors for her.

“I heard na sold out na lahat ng tickets. Thankful ako, excited ako sa mga reaction ng mga tao,” wika niya.

Ayon naman sa director ng movie na si Antoinette Jadaone, wala pa raw plano for promo executions for Sunshine na-surprise na lang daw sila nang lumabas ang trailer last August 30.

Overwhelmed naman si Racal sa mga natanggap niyang reaction.

“Hindi ko in-expect na ganun ‘yung pagka-accept ng trailer. A tear fell. Sobrang natuwa ako, kasi ang daming lumabas na tao na they were rooting for you since day one. Thankful din ako for Direk Tonet for trusting me with this huge responsibility. Hindi biro ‘yung role na ‘yun.”
