Inilantad ni Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla na ilang pulis ang nakialam sa imbestigasyon sa pagpatay kay dating PCSO board secretary Wesley Barayuga kaya hiniling ng pamilya ng huli na ang National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) na ang manguna sa kaso.
Sa panayam ng daily program na “On Point” ni Pinky Webb sa Bilyonaryo News Channel, sinabi ni Remulla na nakipagtulungan sa kanila ang biyuda ni Barayuga at sinabi ang pag-aalinlangang makipagtulungan sa ilang police personality.
Hindi raw nagustuhan ng pamilya na binigyan sila ng ilang pulis ng affidavits para pirmahan kahit na hindi ito nagmula sa kanila.
“Some of the classes of the PMA (Philippine Military Academy) who may have been involved either in helping or in covering up and not helping… Some did not behave according to expectations and just led to more disappointment,” ani Remulla.
“What they didn’t like was the fact that some police officers were giving them affidavits to sign even if these were not from their own words,” dagdag niya.
Nang tanungin ni Webb kung ano ang laman ng affidavits, sinabi ng DOJ chief na, “Something that you would expect from a person with an interest in the case so that they will not be pointed to as suspects or as having connived with anybody in the cover up.”
Samantala, itutuloy pa rin aniya ng pamilya ang kaso at ang gusto lang ay ang NBI ang mag-imbestiga rito.(Jocelyn Domenden)
