PBBM nakipagpulong sa mga senador

NAG-HOST ng “casual dinner” para sa mga senador sa Malacañang si Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., kung saan pinag-usapan ang mga isyu kabilang ang problema sa pagbaha, agrikultura, at West Philippine Sea, Miyerkules ng gabi.

Idinaos ang nasabing “casual dinner’ sa kaparehong araw matapos ang pulong nina Pangulong Marcos at dating Pangulong Rodrigo R. Duterte sa Palasyo kaugnay sa pakikipagpulong ng huli kay Chinese President Xi Jinping sa China.

“We had a very casual and cordial dinner meeting with the President mostly just to catch up and bond with the members of the Senate. Several topics were discussed from the current flooding to agriculture and even about the West Philippine Sea,” pahayag ni Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri.

Isinagawa ang dinner sa Bahay ng Pangulo sa loob ng Palasyo.

“Overall, it was a very relaxed mood and the senators just wanted to catch up with the President,” wika ni Zubiri.

Ani Zubiri, isinalaysay nila kay Pangulong Marcos ang tungkol sa Senate Resolution 718 na kumokondena sa patuloy na panggigipit ng China sa mga Pilipinong mangingisda sa WPS.

“The President is well aware of the stand of the senate on the WPS issue and respects the sense of the Senate regarding this issue,” pahayag ni Zubiri matapos ang dinner kay Marcos.

“We reported that the resolution was discussed together with Secretary Manalo so that we’re [on] the same page with the Executive. We didn’t dwell much on that topic as we wanted to keep the dinner a cordial and casual get together,” dagdag pa ng Pangulo ng Senado.

Base sa Facebook post ni Zubiri noong Huwebes, wala sa larawan sina minority Senators Koko Pimentel, Risa Hontiveros at Chiz Escudero na may nauna na umanong iskedyul. (Mylene Alfonso)
