Fiesta ng Jesus Nazareno pagpapakita ng Faith and Unity – Speaker Romualdez

Isang mainit at taus pusong pagbati ang ipinaabot ni House Speaker Martin G. Romualdez sa milyon milyong mga deboto ng Itim na Nazareno na naki selebra ng taunang selebrasyon ng Translacion sa Simbahan ng Quiapo sa Manila nitong nakalipas na araw.

“Ang Pista ng Jesus Nazareno ay simbolo ng malalim na pananampalataya ng bawat Pilipino. Nawa’y maging ligtas, maayos at puno ng pagkakaisa ang selebrasyon ngayong taon,” Ani Speaker Romualdez.

He underscored the enduring Filipino devotion to the Jesus Nazareno, which continues to inspire hope and unity among the faithful. The Feast, held every January 9, commemorates the transfer of the centuries-old image of Jesus Christ.

The tradition has become a major religious event in the country, drawing millions of devotees from all walks of life.

Speaker Romualdez emphasized that the celebration is not just a religious ritual but a powerful expression of faith and solidarity.

“Ang taunang Traslacion ay nagpapaalala sa atin ng kahalagahan ng pananalig at pagkakaisa bilang isang sambayanan. Ang debosyon na ito ay sumasalamin sa tibay at tapang ng ating pananampalataya,” the leader of the 307-strong House of Representatives stated.

He also lauded the sacrifices of devotees, many of whom wait an entire year for this occasion, as an inspiring act of gratitude and hope.

“The perseverance and dedication of our devotees remind us of the power of faith in overcoming life’s challenges,” the Speaker said.

The Jesus Nazareno procession, considered one of the largest annual religious gatherings globally, has become a spiritual anchor for many Filipinos who believe that joining the procession and touching the image or its rope brings blessings and healing.

Speaker Romualdez urged devotees to uphold discipline and ensure a peaceful celebration, and also safeguarding the environment when attending the occasion.

“Panatilihin po natin ang kaayusan sa ating pagdiriwang. Ang ating pananampalataya ay dapat magdala ng pagkakaisa at kalinisan,” the House leader from Leyte expressed. “Mahalaga rin po na ating pangalagaan ang kalikasan. Siguraduhin po natin na walang kalat na maiiwan matapos ang Traslacion.”

With millions expected to join the procession, the Speaker called for cooperation between organizers, authorities and participants to ensure the safety of everyone involved.

He particularly commended the efforts of the local government of Manila and church officials in preparing for the event.

“Saludo po ako sa mga opisyal ng simbahan at pamahalaan na walang sawang nag-aasikaso upang maging matagumpay at ligtas ang Pista ng ating Jesus Nazareno,”ayon pa kay Speaker Romualdez.

“Nawa’y patuloy tayong gabayan ng Jesus Nazareno sa ating mga adhikain at pangarap bilang isang bansa,” pagtatapos na pahayag ni Romualdez.
