De Lima pinaiimbestigahan ang pagpapasara at pagsira ng kalsada ng BuCor

NAGPATAWAG si Senadora Leila de Lima ng imbestigasyon kaugnay sa konstruksyon ng Bureau of Corrections ng pader sa Muntinlupa.

Sa kanyang inihaing Senate Resolution No. 957, inihayag ni De Lima na posibleng nagkaroon ng paglabag ang BuCor dahil sa kabiguan nito na sumunod sa mga ordinansa.

Ayon sa senadora, posibleng paglabag rin ito sa karapatang pantao nang maharang ang kanilang access sa lungsod dahil sa pader.

Iginiit ng senadora na hindi bahagi ng otoridad ng BuCor at ng mga opisyal nito ang ginawang konstruksyon ng pader.

“BuCor and its officials apparently acted beyond the scope of their authority when they pursued the construction of the wall and eventual destruction of road and bridge without prior notice to the City Government and Barangay having jurisdiction over the disputed area,” wika ni De Lima.

“The Senate must look into whether existing laws have been violated in the construction of the said wall which did not only disregard the local government but as well as the rights of the residents who have been left traversing unsafe and unlighted pathways, and have been reduced to avail of transportation services at a hefty cost,” aniya pa.

Matatandaang ipinatayo ng BuCor ang pader noong November 26 upang ipasara ang Insular Prison Road sa Muntinlupa City, na inaasahan nitong pipigil sa mga ilegal na aktibidad sa loob ng New Bilibid Prison. (Mylene Alfonso)
