I do not intend to diminish the risks and the challenges that we face in this turbulent time in global history, and yet, I see sunlight filtering through these dark clouds. We have assembled the BEST Filipino minds to help navigate us through this time of global crisis that we are now facing. We will endure. Let our Filipino spirit ever remain undimmed. I know this in my mind, I know it in my heart, I know it in my very soul. THE STATE OF THE NATION IS SOUND. Thank you and good afternoon.

The 19 priority measures enumerated by President Marcos in his SONA were the Valuation Reform Bill, Passive Income and Financial Intermediary Taxation Act (PIFITA), E-Governance Act, Internet Transaction Act, Government Financial Institutions Unified Initiatives to Distressed Enterprises for Economic Recovery (GUIDE) bill, Medical Reserve Corps bill, National Disease Prevention Management Authority bill, Virology Institute of the Philippines bill, Unified System of Separation, Retirement and Pension bill, Department of Water Resources bill, E Governance Act, National Land Use Act, Mandatory Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) and National Service Training Program, Budget Modernization bill, National Government Rightsizing Program, National Defense Act, Enactment of an Enabling Law for the Natural Gas Industry, Amendments to the Electric Power Industry Reform Act, and Amendments to the Build-Operate-Transfer Law.

Yedda Marie Romualdez ang principal authors ng Valuation Reform Bill, Passive Income and Financial Intermediary Taxation Act o PIFITA, E-Governance Act, Internet Transaction Act, Government Financial Institutions Unified Initiatives to Distressed Enterprises for Economic Recovery o GUIDE, Medical Reserve Corps, National Disease Prevention Management Authority, at Virology Institute of the Philippines.

Cruz-Alip ng Cainta, “He said what needs to be said and did not say what I think did not need saying because his administration recognizes what needs to continue like Peace and order, drugs and insurgency. That aside, the spotlight is the economy. Foreign investments, technology and agriculture. The preceding 100days will show how his administration will implement.”

Here’s one from Rolly Carandang, a veteran journalist and my kumpare, “While PBBM’s SONA was laudable as he tackled very important and pressing issues like the economy, education, health, OFWs, our territory or WPS, information technology etc etc, he failed to mention about peace and order where illegal drugs and insurgency are under it. And they are very, very important too for our survival as a nation.”

“We can’t have a healthy economy if peace and order is not addressed first.”

“Again, my unsolicited advice to our Commander-in-Chief is to prioritize too about illegal drugs by appointing a tough and respectable anti-drug czar. Make no mistake about it, if PBBM does not see the seriousness of the threat of illegal drugs and insurgency to our peace and stability, then all his good undertakings will be in jeopardy. It’s not yet late for him to act on it. The morning of any administration is the best time to send signals to enemies of the state like insurgents, drug traffickers/dealers and corruptors in the government.”

Hehehehe.

“Warrant of arrest”

Hahahaha.

O ayan, busangot, nag-isyu na ng memo ang Office of the Secretary General bilang patunay na “special liaison officer” sa media center under the Office of the Speaker ang empleyadong kare-retiro lang.

Ano say mo ngayon? Wala, bong panis ka talaga!
