2 sundalo patay sa bakbakan sa Apayao

NASAWI ang dalawang sundalo sa engkwentro sa pagitan ng militar at mga miyembro ng New People’s Army (NPA) sa Kabugao, Apayao nitong Huwebes.

Kinilala ang mga nasawi na sina 2nd Lieutenant Nasser Dimalanes, 28 anyos; at Private 1st Class Jaime Fontanilla Jr., 29.

Ayon sa ulat, nakatanggap ng impormasyon ang militar mula sa mga residente ng Barangay Lenneng sa naturang bayan tungkol sa mga gumagalang komunistang rebelde.

Sa pagresponde ng mga sundalo, nakabakbakan nila ang nasa 30 rebelde.

“We mourn the death of our fallen comrades who have sacrificed their lives to save the people of Kabugao,” wika ni 98th Infantry Battalion commander, Lieutenant Colonel Abraham Gallangi Jr.

“We will not waste the sacrifice rendered by our comrades. We will pursue those members of the (New People’s Army) to let them pay the consequences of their inhumane actions,” pahayag pa ni Gallangi.
