“A ground incident involving two aircraft occurred at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) at approximately 11:38 p.m. on 7 July 2026, when Saudia Flight SV871, which was taxiing for departure, came into contact with a parked Philippine Airlines (PAL) aircraft. No injuries were reported, and airport operations were not significantly affected.”

Ito ang inihayag ni New NAIA Infra Corp. (NNIC) general manager Lito Alvarez, kasabay ng banggit na batay sa paunang ulat, ang “wingtip of the taxiing Saudia aircraft struck the tail section of the parked PAL Airbus A320 at low speed. ”

“NNIC ground operations and safety teams responded immediately after the incident was reported, securing the area and coordinating the repositioning of both aircraft. The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) was also notified through established protocols and a full investigation is currently being conducted to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident, including a review of airside communications, aircraft movement records, and other relevant operational data,” ayon kay Alvarez.

“NNIC said it is extending its full cooperation to the concerned airlines and aviation authorities to ensure a thorough and objective review. Updates will be provided through official channels as verified information becomes available. NAIA continues to operate normally,” dagdag pa ni Alvarez. (JERRY TAN/JOJO SADIWA)
