KINUMPIRMA ni House Speaker Martin Romualdez na naplantsa na nila kung paano popondohan ang panukalang MUP pension reform program matapos ang tatlong oras na pulong nitong Miyerkules.
Kasabay nito ay bumuo narin ng isang ad hoc committee na tatalakay sa panukala.
Pamumunuan ito ni Ways and Means Committee Chair Joey Salceda na siya ring nagsulong ng ‘win-win’ solution para maipatupad ang MUP pension reform.
Kabilang dito ang pagkakaroon ng 3% guaranteed annual increase sa sweldo ng MUP.
Pananatili ng indexation ng MUP pensions. At pagpapatupad ng staggered contribution:
– 5% personnel, 16% NG on the first 3 years
– 7% personnel, 14% NG on the next three years
– 9% personnel, 12% NG on the 7th year and thereafter
“Our soldiers and uniformed personnel are now assured: their pension plan are now fully funded. Not only in 2023 or 2024, but in years to come…I am happy to report that we have reached a consensus after a three-hour meeting. We all agreed on a solution that we, believe, will be beneficial to all stakeholders in the MUP pension program,” ani Speaker Romualdez.
