PAGHANGA KAY TITO SOTTO

KAHIT noong 2018, may bumungang paghanga kami kay Tito Sotto. Siya ang Senate President noong panahon na iyon, ngunit bumilib kami ng hindi siya pumayag na dakpin si Sonny Trillanes sa loob ng Senado kaugnay ng mga pinagtagpi-tagping bintang na hindi siya totoong binigyan ng amnesty ni PNoy noong 2011.

Tahimik na tinutulan noon ang nais gawin nina Jose Calida at puwersa ng PNP na dakpin si Sonny Trillanes kahit sa loob ng Senado. Kung gusto ninyong dakpin si Trillanes, doon sa labas at hindi sa sagradong bulwagan ng Senado. Hindi lang masyadong nabigyan ng media playup kasi ayaw ni Sotto ang publisidad at baka siya ang pag-initan ni Gongdi na sadyang abusado noong mga panahon na iyon.

Hindi pumayag si Sotto na magaya kay Koko Pimentel na pumayag na dakpin si Leila de Lima batay sa mga gagawa-gawang sakdal laban sa huli. Si Koko ang Senate President at madali siyang pumayag na dakpin si Leila kahit sa loob ng Senado. Hind siya ipinagtanggol ni Koko na kilala sa kahinaan ng loob. Baklain, sa maikli.

Komedyante si Sotto. Alam ng buong mundo na propesyon ni Sotto ang magpatawa sa madla. Pero hindi nagpapatawa si Sotto ng tutulan niya ang pagdakip kay Sonny Trillanes noong 2018 batay sa utos ni Gongdi. Walang ibinigay umano si PNoy na amnesty kay Trillanes, kaya marapat bumalik sa kulungan si Trillanes. Gawa-gawa ni Calida ito na noo’y solicitor general.

Ninakaw ang mga amnesty paper ni Trillanes na isinumite sa DND ng mga panahon na iyon. Hindi natukoy kung sino ang nagnakaw pero itinuturo si Calida, ang bata ni Gongdi na may hindi ordinaryong interes sa usapin ng amnesty ni Trillanes. Si Calida ang itinuro ni Gongdi na nagsubo sa kanya para pirmahan ang executive order na nagsabing walang amnesty si Trillanes at marapat ibalik sa kulungan.

Hindi nadakip si Trillanes dahil sa pagtanggi ni Sotto na dakpin si Trillanes sa loob ng Senado. Hindi dito natatapos ang kuwento. Pasimpleng pumayag si Sotto na nanatili (o nagkuta) sa loob ng Senado si Trillanes ng ilang linggo at lumabas lang nang nagpasya ang husgado na totoong may amnesty siya at walang na batayan ang bintang ni Gongdi at Calida sa kanya.

Sa panahon na kailangan ni Trillanes ng suporta, hindi nagpapatawa si Sotto. Pinanindigan niya na walang senador na basta dakpin sa loob ng Senado kahit si Gongdi pa ang nag-utos. Katwiran niya – kapag nangyari ang gayon, kahit sinong senador pwedeng dakpin ng nasa poder. Hindi siya pumayag na magaya sa walang gulugod na si Koko Pimentel.

Hindi pumayag si Sotto na basta ipakulong ni Gongdi si Trillanes. Supalpal ang abusadong mamamatay tao. Ngayon, si Gongdi ang nakakulong sa piitan ng ICC sa Olanda. Karma.

MAY isinulat akong sanaysay noong 2018 tungkol sa isang malaki pero bolilyasong operasyon nina Gongdi at Calida na muling ibalik sa kulungan si Sonny Trillanes batay sa pagkawala (o ninakaw) na papeles sa amnesty. Kababalik lang ni Gongdi mula sa state visit sa Israel at Jordan noong 2018. Natapos ni Sonny Trillanes ang pangalawang termino niya bilang isang malayang senador noong 2019.

THEIR OPERATIONS GOES PFFT…

IT is a major operations that has backfired.

The madman of the South has brought with him a number of military generals to his working visit to Israel and Jordan and even timed the operations against Sen. Sonny Trillanes when he is in foreign land.

He is expecting that when he arrives home, Trillanes is in prison. But it is not happening that way. Trillanes is not in jail. He is having a field day giving press conferences and interviews and shouting to the world that the president of the Philippines is a mad man.

The explanation is simple. Their operations has backfired because it is half-baked.

Solicitor General Jose Calida, the suspected mastermind of the operations, could hardly come out with an airtight case against Trillanes. Calida hardly has the command of the details – legal and political – of the amnesty given to Trillanes and other Magdalo mutineers nearly a decade ago.

The same is true with their counterpart in the Armed Forces. Because the top brass would not join in the operations, they have coopted several middle-level officials, who hardly know and understand the intricacies of the amnesty of Trillanes and the Magdalo leaders.

DoJ Secretary Menandro Guevarra is clueless too. He opened his mouth too soon, showing his gross ignorance of the issue. The same is true with minor players like Harry Roque and Salvador Panelo.

They talked on something they hardly know and understand, exposing their stupidity.

But the biggest reason Trillanes is not in prison stems largely from the support he has been quietly receiving from many parties, including the OSG, AFP, and DoJ.

Trillanes knew beforehand what Calida and company were cooking. Unidentified OSG people had leaked to his camp their operations, enabling them to prepare their counterattack. On the day the executive order on withdrawal of his amnesty was announced, he had the stacks of documents to show to the public that the executive order is patently unconstitutional, illegal, and part of political persecution against him.

He also has support from the military, enabling him to know the identities of participants of the plot against him. He knows the identities of DoJ lawyers against him. He is no murderer unlike the madman.
