500 pasaway na pulis sinibak!

NASA 500 pulis ng Natonal Capital Region Police Office ( NCRPO) ang sinibak sa puwesto at naparusahan sa pagkakasangkot sa mga iregularidad at sa iligal na droga sa isinasagawang internal cleansing ng Philippine National Police.

“Ang second challenge here in Metro Manila — particularly in NCRPO — is the decorum or yung mga tao natin committing shenanigans or yung mga kalokohan nilang ginagawa,” sabi ni Police Major Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr.

“For the information of everyone, I have dismissed — for the nine months — I have dismissed a total of about 500 PNP personnel and at the same time punished for several offenses ranging from demotion, forfeiture of pay as well as suspension ng mga about 500 din,” dagdag ni Nartatez.

Kaugnay nito, kasama sa mga naparusahan ang 16 pulis na nagpositibo sa surprise drug test.

“Pinakamataas diyan is colonel,” sabo ni Nartatez.

Nabatid na Agosto ng nakaraang taon nang ipa-relieve ng NCRPO sa puwesto si Colonel Cesar Gerente, noo’y hepe ng Mandaluyong Police, matapos na mag-positibo sa paggamit ng iligal na droga sa isinagawang random drug testing sa Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig.

Nasa 22,000 ang pulis ng NCRPO na naka-assign sa limang police districts — Quezon City Police District, Manila Police District, Southern Police District, Eastern Police District at Northern Police.

“It is very unfair for those 95% na gumagawa na mabuti na pulis. Eh 5% lang sila. Range from 1% to 5%. ‘Yan ang greatest challenge natin para mapanatili na maganda ang image, at the same time nagbabago ang Philippine National Police,” sabi ni Nartatez.(Boy Celario)
