Team Manila,depensahan ang kanilang titulo sa World Series girls’ softball

OPTIMISTIKO ang Team Manila – Philippines na madepensahan nila ang kanilang titulo sa PONY International Girls Softball World Series na nakatakda sa Hulyo 17-20 sa McAllen, Texas.

Napanateli ng Filipina softbelles ang U18 championship nakaraang taon kasunod ng eighth-game sweep ng tournament.

“Our team is competitive, even there are only three carryovers from last year’s lineup,”Wika ni coach Sheirylou Valenzuela sa Philippine Sportswriters Association Martes sa conference hall of the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex.

Itinuturing ni Valenzuela ang Puerto Rico na isa sa pinakamalaking threats sa misyon ng Pilipinas para sa third straight crown.

Dumalo rin si Manila councilor at Team Manila Softball President Rafael “Che” Borromeo at team manager Giovanni Mapa sa weekly session.

Sinabi ni Mapa na karamihan sa kanilang player ay nagmua sa Adamson,La Salle, at Bacolod. Ang team, na nagsimula mag-training ng halos dalawang Linggo na ngayon ay aalis sa Hulyo 14.

“The challenge now is that we are the defending champions, we will have to face many strong teams,” Dagdag nya.

May kabuoang 27 teams ang kalahok sa edition ngayong taon.
