My First Time to Judge a Christmas Presentation

I came on time for a mass officiated by Fr. Bong Guerrero, or the “Happy Priest”. He is known as one of the most dynamic preachers of the Diocese of Cubao. A stalwart of the Catholic Charismatic renewal, Fr. Bong has written books, a series about various humorous stories of life and faith. And I met him for the first time here during the Orlina Atelier Christmas Party.

After the said Eucharistic Celebration, opening remarks were done by famed Filipino glass sculptor Ramon Orlina, hailed as the Father of Philippine Glass Sculpture, with his London-educated lawyer wife Lay Ann Lee Orlina.

Then six gift certificates were given to six persons. This was followed by a sumptuous dinner with a prayer first before meals.

Of course, lots of raffle prizes were expected and all employees won prizes whether minor or major.

There were later games for kids and group presentations representing Shakira, KPop Demon Hunter, Beyonce and Taylor Swift. There was also the search for Ms. Grand Orlina 2025 (all genuine males who dressed in feminine clothes).

There was a tie — Shakira and KPop Demon Hunter — who won both first prizes. I found all the groups deserving to win for they mustered their best efforts to perform in this yearly Christmas group presentation. Aside from me, the other judges were Lay Ann Orlina, Anna Orlina, Michael Orlina and Dr. Ysabella Veniece Ponce, M.D. of the UP-PGH Department of Medicine.

Closing remarks were given by Ramon and Lay Ann Orlina.
