Sumagot lang naman ako when I was interviewed and asked if the DPWH projects that are marked “For Later Relese (FLR)” can be used as a carrot and stick.
Ang sagot ko was that we can only find out after the voting whether the FLR projects in the districts will be released, depending on their vote.
To be clear, I am not an ally of the Vice President. But unlike them, I am not scared of a Sara Duterte presidency because I can be accountable to any President. I can work with any President I agree with and oppose a President I don’t agree with.
My track record shows that I have opposed even the most popular Presidents. Eh sila?
I also believe that there are groups that filed impeachment complaints out of principle like the Makabayan bloc, Akbayan, Cong. Leila de Lima, Cong. Chel Diokno, Kiko Dee.
However, the fact remains that some are hiding behind the impeachment complaint to escape scrutiny and their own accountability.
Most importantly, I call on my fellow legislators not to make a spectacle out of the impeachment proceedings. Let us not drag this on unnecessarily. Instead, let us expedite the proceedings and get it over with so that we can concentrate on the oil crisis we are currently facing as a nation. (Cesar Barquilla)
