Private army, pinabubuwag!

HINIKAYAT ni Senador Joseph Victor “JV” Ejercito ang Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) at ang Philippine National Police (PNP) na lansagin na ang lahat ng privates armies sa buong bansa.

Paniwala ni Ejercito, ang mga suspek sa pagpaslang kay Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo ay gumamit ng “sophisticated” o malalakas na mga armas bukod sa sumailalim sa advanced training sa close-quarter combat ang mga ito.

“I’m hoping that with the deployment of troops and Philippine National Police personnel, the government can already catch and apprehend all of these killers. What is more important is to disband private armies all around the country. The way that Governor Degamo was killed, it was well-funded,” sabi ni Ejercito.

“The equipment used and the firearms were sophisticated and expensive. At the same time, you can see the movement of those assailants. You can see that they underwent close-quarter battle training. Very coordinated,” dagdag pa niya.

Noong Marso 4, pinasok sa kanyang tahanan at pinagbabaril si Degamo kasama ang walong iba pa habang namamahagi ang gobernador ng ayuda sa mga benepisaryo ng lokal na pamahalaan.

Nadakip ng PNP ang apat sa mga sangkot sa masaker. Pinaghahanap pa ng mga awtoridad ang apat o lima pang suspek sa krimen.
