NAGHARI si kevin Arquero sa 1st Rotary International District 3820 Open Rapid Chess tournament sa SM City sa Santo Tomas, Batangas Sabado.

Ang miyembro ng Dasma Cavite Spartans sa professional Chess Association of the Philippines (PCAP) tumanggap ng PHP 15,000 cash at trophy matapos umiskor ng 6.5 points sa seven-round Swiss system kumpetisyon.

Nagwagi si Arquero laban kay George Agsamosam ng batangas (Round1), AFM Albert Pasno ng tagaytay City,, Cavite (Round 2), Daren Dela Cruz ng Silang, Cavite (Round 3), Chester Agsamosam ng Batangas (Round 4), GM Darwin Laylo ng Lipa City, Batangas (Round 5) at Rafael Dionisio ng Manila (Round 7).nauwi sa draw ang laban nila ni Sherwin Tiu ng Manila sa sixth round.

“I am very happy with my victory. I would like to thank the Philippine Army chess team for supporting my participation in this tournament,” Wika ni Arquero.

IM Michael Concio Jr. (Dasmariñas City, Cavite), Tiu at AIM Jeffrey Romera (Tagaytay City) naalagay sa second at fourth place na may tig- 6.0 points.

Laylo fifth na may 5.5 points kasunod si IM Jose Efren Bagmasbad (5.5)points, Manolo Puertellano (5.5 points)), Dela Cruz (5.0 points), Rigor Pedernal ng Lucena City, Quezon (5.0 points) at AGM Aaron Kimuel Lorenzo ng Calamba City, Laguna (5.0 points).

Ang category winners ay sina Leonard Raymond Reyes (executive), Danilo Reyes (senior), Richard Haiden Alarma (junior), Justin Jed Ortillo (kiddie), Chesca Largo (lady), Remark Bartolome (2000 and below), Doodee Libongcogon (1900 and below), Joselito Puyo (1800 and below), Michael Joseph Uy (unrated) at Federico Nallada (Batangas).
