PROBE SA 2016 CASE, PAKANA LANG NI RICHARD GOMEZ — VELOSO

PUMALAG si dating Cong. Ching Veloso sa sulat ng Criminal Investigation and Detection Group sa Department of Justice (DOJ)kaugnay sa imbestigasyon sa pagpatay sa isang Anthony Nuñez sa Tabango, Leyte noong 2016.

Ayon kay Veloso, pakana lamang umano ni 4th District of Leyte Congressman Richard Gomez ang sulat at imbestigasyon.

Nakapagtataka, ayon kay Veloso, na siyam na taon na ang nakararaan ay ngayon lamang inihain ang reklamo.

“If I indeed committed a crime, why wasn’t I included in the case that was filed immediately after the January 23, 2016 murder of one Anthony Nuñez? Why are they implicating me just now, 9 years after?” tanong ni Veloso.

Lumagda na rin aniya sa sinumpaang salaysay ang kapatid ni Nunez na si Darlito Nunez na nagsasabing walang kinalaman si Veloso sa kaso dahil tungkol sa negosyong tupada ang pagkamatay ng biktima.

Inalok pa umano ni Tabango, Leyte Mayor Benjo Remandaman si Darlito at ang kanyang Anak na si Aida ng P1 hanggang P5 milyon na sinasabing manggagaling kay Richard Gomez, pangkabuhayan showcase at 24 oras na security para idiin si Veloso pero tinanggihan ito.

Kinukuwestiyon din ni Veloso ang PNP-CIDG dahil dalawang buwan nang nasa kanilang kostudiya ang umano’y witness na si Richan Pernis na malamang umano ginipit para gumawa-gawa ng salaysay.

Magkalaban sa pagka-kongresista sa ikaapat na distrito ng Leyte sina Veloso at Gomez sa darating na May 2025 elections.

“Moreover, why have they kept for two months now their “witness”, Richan Pernis, who has an arrest warrant issued by the Regional Trial Court, at the Camp Crame instead of turning him over to the police station or to the court as mandated by law? I believe it is to put pressure on him, to corner him, so he will sign that I was the one who ordered the killing,” pahayag no Veloso.

“They have done so much against me: they opposed my transfer to the town of Isabel. Ormoc City Mayor Lucy Torres herself filed a petition for the cancellation of my Certificate of Candidacy (COC). They were not successful. Since they failed to have me disqualified, now they do this” ani Veloso.

Ayon kay Veloso, pamumulitika at paninirang puri lamang ang ginagawa ni Gomez.

“I am not worried about this. At the end of the day, my contest with Richard Gomez will be decided not by a case, but by the people,” pahayag ni Veloso.
