Elia Ilano recently completed with flying colors her 10th Grade Level at NCD Integrated School Inc. in Antipolo City. Founded in 1999, the school is recognized by the Department of Education (DepEd) and the Private Education Assistance Committee (PEAC). It is known for its commitment to inclusion and quality education for all learners.

Elia will also be doing in May a new film, “Violet”, to be shown in international film festivals.

“Violet” tells the powerful story of a 15-year-old girl who silently endures the violence of her abusive father, carefully navigating fear and survival within her own home, until outside concern brings the truth to light. It is a poignant and deeply relevant narrative that sheds light on the hidden realities of domestic abuse and the courage it takes to break the silence that allows violence to persist.

At its core, “Violet” is a story about courage –the courage to speak up, because when silence is broken, the “violent” begins to lose its power.

There will be some invited speakers prior to the screening of “Violet” that will help facilitate a child-friendly and informative discussion focusing on: (1) Empathy and respectful communication, (2) Practical guidance on what to do in situations of violence and (3) Information on local support systems (e.g., barangay hotlines or authorities to contact).
