Larry Malpaya, ” is an active Philippine Airlines pilot and is not the individual referred to or depicted in the article.”

“We have formally requested Thai PBS World to immediately correct the article and all related social media posts to prevent the further spread of this false information,” ayon pa sa PAL statement na pinost ni Cielo Villaluna.

Ayon sa Thai account post, “a former PAL and AirAsia pilot lost all his savings, divorced his wife and became homeless and was later rescued by a foundation, which took him to a hospital to be treated for his diabetes.”

“PAL values responsible journalism and appreciates the prompt correction of factual inaccuracies. We remain committed to protecting the reputation and welfare of our employees and ensuring that accurate information is shared with the public,” ayon sa PAL statement.

Samantala, sinabi ni Villaluna na bagamat naglabas ng pahayag ang PAL ukol sa maling post ng Thai portal, “the clarification — though much welcomed — does not put the issue of fake news to rest. In fact, the issue casts anew a spotlight on this menace.”

Dagdag pa niya: ” The poster of news is ingrained with social responsibility to report TRUTH. Up to this hour, the identity of the suffering man on the street remains unknown. The fact remains that the injured, ailing person must be helped. It is my fervent hope that the medical assistance from the Foundation will continue. The person remains in hospital confinement.” (JERRY S. TAN)
