FFCCCII PRESIDENT LIM, TINIYAK ANG PAKIKIISA SA MGA KABABAYAN; MORENO, NAGPASALAMAT

SA gitna ng mga hamong hinaharap ng bansa at mga Pilipino, tiniyak ni Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Inc. President Victor Lim na ang FFCCCII ay patuloy na nakikiisa sa mga ‘kababayan’ nito patungo sa mas mabuting kinabukasan para sa lahat ng mga Pilipino.

Sa kanyang welcome remarks sa kick-off celebration ng Mid-Autumn Festival, sinabi ni Lim na: “This Festival is the second most important Chinese festival next to the Chinese. ”

“More than 3,000 years ago, the Mid-Autumn Festival started in China where the moon is at its fullest and brightest, coinciding with the time of harvest in the middle of autumn. Today, we are glad that our media friends are here to celebrate this tradition with us and we would like to thank all of you for your articles and posts about the activities of our Federation. As our partners in promoting the programs of FFCCCII, we look forward to your continued support so we can further reach out to our fellow Filipinos,” dagdag pa ni Lim.

Ang nasabing festival ay isang traditional event na ipinagdiriwan ng maramingAsian countries at Chinese communities sa buong mundo, tuwing ika-15 ng ika-8 buwan ng lunar calendar, na magaganap sa September 25 ngayong taon.

Dumalo sa okasyon sina Manila Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso, Vice Mayor Angela Lei “Chi” Atienza at Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Assistant Secretary Arthur Lawrence Los Baños.

Sa kanyang speech, binanggit din ni Lim ang flagship program ng Federation na “Operation: Barrio Schools” na nagsimula taong 1961, kung saan nagkaroon ng construction at turnover ng mahigit 6,500 school buildings – o higit 13,000 classrooms – sa public schools sa buong bansa.

“This year 2026 marks the 65th year of its implementation and the FFCCCII also launched its TikTok Video Competition: “A Classroom for Every Dream: How the FFCCCII Barrio Schools Have Changed Lives.” Judging for the contest has concluded and scores are now being tabulated for the final results, ” ani Lim.

Dagdag pa ni Lim: “Last June, our Federation together with our partners in the Filipino at Tsino Magkaibigan Foundation immediately launched relief operations to give 5,300 relief packs and provide 4,000 galvanized iron roofing sheets to help the families affected by the magnitude 7.8 earthquake that struck Southern Mindanao. Then last week, we held our relief operations for the victims of recent typhoons and Habagat floods. We distributed more than 20,000 packs of 5-kilo rice for Metro Manila, Baguio City, Benguet, La Union, Pangasinan, Tarlac, Bulacan, Pampanga, Olongapo, Bataan, Cavite and other affected areas.”

“For all of these, we take inspiration from the Mid-Autumn Festival which carries the message of hope and unity – with the bright full moon that symbolize embracing change with a positive outlook and togetherness as one community with a common aspiration,” aniya pa.

Samantala, binigyang-diin ni Moreno ang mahabang kasaysayan ng relasyon sa pagitan ng Chinese-Filipinos at lungsod ng Maynila, na tahanan ng pinakamatandang Chinatown sa buong mundo.

Tiniyak niya sa Federation ang ‘ease of doing business in Manila’ at nagpahayag ng pasasalamat sa patuloy na suporta ng Federation sa local government. (JERRY S. TAN)
