76 FOREIGN NATIONALS DINAKIP SA IKALAWANG POGO RAID SA LOOB NG DALAWANG LINGGO
Nagsagawa ng operasyon ang Bureau of Immigration-Intelligence Division (BI-ID), sa pamamagitan ng Special Response Team (ID-SRT) at Region 4 Regional Intelligence Operations Unit (RIOU) kasama ang Armed Forces of the Philippines’ National Capital Region Command , na nagbunga ng pagkakadakip ng 76 foreign nationals sa hinihinalang illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO)-related facility na ginagamit umano sa online scamming activities, sa Barangay Socorro, Cubao, Quezon City.
Ang nasabing operation ay isinagawa ng BI Intelligence Division na pinamumunuan ni Fortunato Manahan, Jr., “pursuant to a duly issued mission order, as part of the government’s continuing efforts to enforce President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s directive to put an end to illegal POGO operations and implement Republic Act No. 12312, or the Anti-POGO Act of 2025.”
Ayon kay Manahan, ang nasabing mga dayuhan ay sangkot sa online scamming activities nang pasukin ng BI operatives ang lugar.
Ang mga banyaga ay binunuo ng 74 Chinese nationals at dalawang Myanmar nationals.
“The apprehended foreign nationals are undergoing inquest proceedings and will face deportation proceedings in accordance with Philippine immigration laws. Upon issuance of deportation orders, they will be placed on the BI’s blacklist, barring their future re-entry into the Philippines.,” ani Manahan. (JERRY S. TAN)
