“No such proposal has been submitted by the BI,” paglilinaw ni Tansingco.

“We are an implementing agency, and amnesty would require a new law passed by Congress,” dagdag pa nito.

“Such statements are unauthorized and figures are baseless,” pagbutata ni Tansingco sa pahayag ni Laogan sa artikulo.

Si Tansingco ay kasalukuyang nasa Thailand bilang Head of the Philippine delegation sa ASEAN meeting ng immigration departments at mga pinuno ng consular affairs.

“His statements are careless and dangerous,” pahayag ni Tansingco.

“In fact, we have received prior information that there are unscrupulous groups on social messaging apps already selling slots for this supposed amnesty, hence we reiterate that no such thing is on the table,” dagdag pa nito.

Dati siyang nagsilbi bilang president of the Chinese Filipino Business Club Inc. at Senior Adviser of the Federation of Filipino Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry Inc. (JERRY S. TAN / JOJO SADIWA)
