CAAP, UMAKTO SA ILIGAL AT PEKENG PILOTO AT AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE LICENSES

KINONDENA ng Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) ang pagkakatuklas at pag-aresto sa suspek na sangkot sa iligal at pekeng pag-isyu ng pilot at aircraft maintenance licenses.
Nag-utos si CAAP Director General retired Lt. Gen. Raul Del Rosario ng agarang imbestigasyon sa licensing systems ng CAAP, gayundin ang pagpapatupad ng procedural safeguards para maalis ang mga depekto at mapigilan ang mga kahinaan ng sistema.
“We extend our sincere appreciation to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) for their swift and effective action in uncovering this fraudulent scheme. Their decisive intervention reflects our shared commitment to upholding the rule of law and ensuring public safety,” anito.
Ayon kay CAAP spokesman Eric Apolonio, walang ‘shortcuts’ sa pagiging licensed pilot sa bansa, dahil lahat ng gustong maging aviator ay dapat na dumaan sa mahigpit na proseso ng pagsasany at certification alinsunod sa Philippine Civil Aviation Regulations (PCAR) at sa international aviation safety standards.
Dagdag pa ni Apolonio, nananatiling tutok ang CAAP sa misyon nito upang itaguyod ang pinakamataas na antas ng aviation safety, transparency at regulatory compliance.
“The Authority is working closely with law enforcement agencies to ensure that all individuals involved in this criminal activity are identified and prosecuted according to the law. The safety of the flying public is paramount. CAAP will continue to take all necessary measures to protect the integrity of the Philippine civil aviation system,” ani Apolonio.
Samantala, kinumpirma ng CAAP na isang training aircraft ang nasangkot sa isang insidente sa Iba Airport ngayong, July 11, 2025.
Nagsasagawa umano ang aircraft ng training flight mula Subic nang maganap ang insidente. Lahat ng sakay nito ay ‘conscious’ at dinala sa pinakamalapit na ospital para sa medical evaluation.
“The Aircraft Accident Investigation and Inquiry Board (AAIIB) has already been notified and will conduct an investigation to determine the cause of the incident, in accordance with the directive of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and the Department of Transportation to ensure public safety. CAAP will provide updates as more information becomes available,” pahayag ni Apolonio. (JERRY S. TAN)
