Ruben Soriquez, bilib sa husay ng Pinoy actors

AMINADO ang Filipino-Italian actor/director na si Ruben Soriquez na ang bago niyang pelikula titled ‘The Marianas Web’ ay kakaibang challenge sa kanya.

Isang sci-fi/horror thriller movie ito na makikita ang ilang eksena ng karahasan at sexual, dahil kailangan talaga ito sa kuwento. May madudugong eksena rin, na sangkap para mas tumutok ang moviegoers sa kabuuan ng pelikula.

Pahayag ni Ruben, “This is not an ordinary horror film, there’s a lot of sci-fi… It’s a very difficult film to produce because it’s heavy on visual effects. We also featured amazing Italian landscapes. We shot also in different scenic spots in the Philippines.

“Basically the message (of the film), it is very dangerous to spend more time on your computer screen, as far as relationships is concern.”

Dagdag pa ng actor/director, “This is the first time that I co-produced and starred in a sci-fi movie. It is hard for me… Artificial intelligence is changing our world as virtual reality permeates our lives. We are losing touch with what really matters, real and meaningful human relationships.

“Definitely, this is something new for me. The film is about the danger of our modern technology, the peril of spending too much time in the virtual space that poses a threat to weak and lonely people.”

Bukod kay Ruben, ito ay tinatampukan nina Alexa Ocampo, Sahara Bernales, Asia Galeotti, Luca Biagini, Andrea Dugoni, at iba pa.

Ang pelikula ay hinggil sa isang simpleng magsasaka sa Italy na si Fosco (Ruben), na makikilala sa online si Mariana (Alexa). Siya ay isang misteryosang babae, na lingid sa kaalaman ni Fosco ay nagtataglay ng isang kakaibang kapangyarihan at doon na nagsimula ang gulo sa buhay ng magsasaka.

Ipinahayag din ni Direk Ruben na bilib siya sa mga nakakatrabaho niyang Pinoy actors.

Aniya, “It’s always been great, because I’ve worked so many times with Filipino actors … not only in my films but also in a TV series. So I really enjoyed working with them, because they give it all.

“Differently, Italian actors are more unionized, so you can have them for like eight hours, ten hours, no more than that. But Filipino actors, if we need to finish a couple of scenes and you asked them for two or three more hours, they will say yes. And of course, they are very-very talented, that’s why I like Filipino actors.”

Ang pelikula na pinamahalaan ng Italian director na si Marco Calvise ay mapapanood na sa mga sinehan sa October 15.

Pagkatapos ng theatrical release ng The Marianas Web sa Pilipinas, nakatakda ring ipalabas ito sa Italy, India, USA, at iba pa. Nakikipag-usap na rin ang mga producer nito sa important US streamers.
