Dinakip ng Bureau of Immigration (BI)-intelligence division ang dalawang Chinese nationals sa magkahiwalay na operasyon sa Luzon at Mindanao, matapos magpanggap na Filipinos.
Ayon kay BI intelligence division chief Fortunato Manahan Jr., ang operations ay isinagawa ng BI Intelligence Division kasama ang Armed Forces of the Philippines, Philippine National Police at government intelligence forces.
Inaresto umano ng BI Regional Intelligence Operations Unit–5 (RIOU5) ang Chinese national na si Jucan Hong sa Barangay Bitano, Legazpi City noong February 2.
“Reports showed that Hong had long been misrepresenting himself as a Filipino to secure government-issued identification, including a driver’s license indicating Philippine citizenship, and to engage in business activities in the area,” ani Manahan.
Kinabukasan ay dinakip naman ng BI Intelligence Division personnel in Mindanao si Qingzhuang Ke sa Barangay Cuambogan, Tagum City, Davao del Norte.
Ayon kay BI spokesperson Dana Sandoval, si Ke ay may delayed registration birth certificate sa ilalim ng pekeng Filipino name na ginamit niya para makakuha ng mga Philippine IDs, bank accounts, registration ng sasakyan at makapag-operate ng warehouse business.
Ani Sandoval, ang dalawang banyaga ay nasa custody na ng BI at mahaharap sa deportation cases” for misrepresentation and other immigration violations, with deportation proceedings to follow after the resolution of their cases.” (JERRY S. TAN)
