BOC, NAGPAALALA SA MGA PASAHERO UKOL SA PAGDEKLARA NG DALANG PERA

UPANG matiyak ang mabilis na proseso sa mga port of entry at exit, nagpaalala ang Bureau of Customs (BOC) sa mga biyahero ukol sa umiiral na polisiya ukol sa pagdadala ng Philippine at foreign currencies papasok o palabas ng bansa.

Ayon kay BOC Commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno, ang nasabing regulasyon ay layong gabayan at hindi pahirapan ang mga biyahero.

“These rules have long been in place to promote transparency and protect both the travelling public and the integrity of our financial system. Declaring currency is a standard procedure and does not prevent travelers from carrying lawful amounts of cash. Our goal is to make the process clear, consistent, and convenient for everyone,” ayon kay Nepomuceno.

Sinabi naman ni BOC-NAIA District Collector Atty. Yasmin Mapa na sa ilalim ng umiiral na regulasyon, ang mga biyahero ay maaring magdala ng foreign currency, cash at parehong uri ng travel funds ngunit kung ang buong halaga ay lalagpas ng US$10,000 o katumbas nito sa iba pang foreign currencies, ang buong halaga ay dapat na ideklara sa BOC pagdating o pag-alis, sa pamamagitan ng e-Travel System na ginagawa bago ang biyahe o sa mga designated BOC counters sa airports at seaports.

Ani Mapa, pagdating sa Philippine currency, ang mga traveler ay maaring magdala nito o maglabas hanggang P50,000 kada tao lamang, nang di na kailangan ng prior approval.

Anumang halaga umano na lagpas sa limit ay dapat na may written authorization mula sa Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) at deklarado sa BOC.

“It may be noted, however, that requests for BSP authorization must be filed prior to departure from the country of origin and may be authorized by the BSP only for numismatics purposes, currency awareness (e.g. museums, exhibits and literary materials) and testing, calibration and configuration of money counting/sorting machines. This rule applies to Philippine banknotes, coins, checks and other peso-denominated forms of money. Amounts carried in excess of the P50,000 limit without the proper authorization shall be subject to confiscation,” dagdag pa ni Mapa.

Hinihimok ni Mapa ang mga biyahero na kumpletuhin ang Customs and currency declarations sa pamamagitan ng e-Travel platform bago ang arrival o departure para sa mabilis na pag-proseso.
