“The confiscated parcels were formally turned over to the PDEA for chemical analysis, case build-up and the filing of appropriate charges for violations of Republic Act No. 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, in relation to the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act (CMTA). The operation underscores the bureau’s continued vigilance against the use of international mail and cargo channels for the unlawful importation of prohibited substances,” ani Mapa.
“The BOC efforts are in line with the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. to intensify the government’s campaign against illegal drugs while strengthening border security and trade enforcement measures,” dagdag pa ni Mapa. (JERRY S. TAN)
