Asian Srs Aerobics Gymnastics C’ship Hayahay sa Tagaytay!

ISA na namang dambuhalang kaganapang internasyunal ang nakahanay sa bansa at ito’ y gaganapin sa Tagaytay.

Iwe- welcome ng Pilipinas ang higit sa 350 dayuhang delegado sa pagtikada ng 10th Senior Aerobic Gymnastics Asian Championships na handog ng Philippine Sports Commission mula Aug. 4 hanggang 7 sa state- of- the- art Tagaytay City Velodrome.

Inorganisa ng Gymnastics Association of the Philippines (GAP) at may basbas ng World Gymnastics at ng Asian Gymnastics Union (AGU), ang kaganapan ay itinatampok ang Asia’s best aerobic gymnastics na naglalayong palawigin pa ang sports tourism program ng bansa.

Nasa 12 Asian countries ang lalahok sa pagtutunggaliang 7 kategorya: individual men at women, mixed pairs, trios, groups, aerobic dance at aerobic step. Ang age groups ay 12 – 14 sa Youth, 15 – 17 sa Junior at 18 above para sa Senior.

Lahok sa torneo ang mga dayuhang bansang Cambodia, Chinese-Taipei, Hong Kong, Indonesia, India, Japan, South Korea, Mongolia, Thailand at Vietnam.

Ito ang ikalawang major international competition ng GAP sa timon ni Cynthia Carrion at ng PSC sa pamumuno ni chairman Patrick Gregorio nauna dito 9 na buwan na ang nakaraan ay idinaos ang Junior World Artistic Gymnastics Championships noong Nobyembre.

Ang Lungsod ng Tagaytay sa liderato ni Mayor Brent Tolentino at Philippine Olympic Committee president Abraham Tolentino, ay ipinahayag ang kahandaan bilang punong- abala at ipamalas ang halina nito sa mga dayuhan.

Tiniyak din ang security measures sa kaganapan at inihanda ang mga palabas na kultural at hospitality programs ng lunsod..

“Through this Championship, I believe that the city locals and the whole nation are one in bringing Asian sport to new heights and inspire all Asian athletes to celebrate discipline and push their boundaries of excellence,” ayon kay Carrion na katuwang si GAP secretary-general Rowena Eusuya sa komprehensibong preparasyon.

“Sports unites people. Sports is like music. Memories come back. This is also in line with PSC chairman Gregorio’s thrust in hosting international sporting events to boost sports tourism,” ani pa Carrion

“We welcome this hosting as part of our sports tourism program. As I’ve said, sports is good news,” saad ni Gregorio, na siya ring chairman of ng National Sports Tourism-Inter Agency Committee.
